Hale School is Western Australia’s oldest independent boys’ school. Located in the suburb of Wembley Downs, the current campus is situated on a magnificent 48 hectare site, approximately 13 kilometres to the north-west of Perth and two kilometres from the coast.
Hale School is seeking applications from suitably qualified persons for the full-time, contract position of Productions and Events Technician. The Productions and Events Technician is responsible for providing technical services as required to support a wide range of events and productions at Hale School. Safe, high quality technical services are required for the School’s extensive programme of productions and performances in music and drama as well as in a wide range of other activities, exhibitions, assemblies and school community events. The School campus has a range of purpose-built performance venues. The Productions and Events Technician will have expertise in lighting and sound systems, control systems and relevant equipment and its maintenance and will be enthusiastic, highly cooperative, collaborative and resourceful. Flexibility in working hours will be required to cover evening and weekend work as required by the events schedule.
Hale School is excited about the coming years with an even greater focus on productions and events and the possibility of new facilities. This role therefore is the first step to a re-establishment of a productions and events team. This means that there will be significant scope for advancement and promotion from this role for the right applicant.
The successful applicant will:
- Work independently and collaboratively with the staff and students to build a welcoming culture of creativity and excellence in all school events.
- Provide excellent technical support and operation for Performing and Creative Arts productions and School events.
- Provide technical expertise and assistance as required for students and staff in technical operation of lighting and sound; and safety procedures.
- Possess strong, proven experience in stage/production management and Audio Visual design.
- Possess excellent IT and communication skills.
- Contribute positively to a team environment and have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Be eligible to work in Western Australian schools. This will involve associated Police Clearances and a current Working with Children (WWC) Check.
