THE OPPORTUNITY
Spare Parts Puppet Theatre is seeking a full-time Production & Technical Officer to join our dedicated team.
The Production & Technical Officer supports creative teams to realise their artistic vision for Spare Parts’ puppetry performances and audience engagement programs. Working with a broad range of artists, technicians and suppliers they drive the delivery all production and technical aspects on time and on budget. This is a dynamic and multi-faceted role within a small, dedicated team.

Building upon many years of success, we have committed to investing in an ambitious artistic program over the coming years. The Production & Technical Officer will help bring this exciting vision to life, and play an essential role in the creative process.
The successful applicant will be highly motivated with an ability to problem solve, manage competing deadlines, remain calm under pressure and work well as part of a team.

SELECTION CRITERIA
The successful applicant will possess the following skills and experience: Essential:
- Experience in construction and repair of sets, costumes and props
- Lighting and sound operation experience
- Stage management experience
- Strong organisational skills and ability to multi-task
- Experience in planning and scheduling for performing arts
- Confident communicator with well-developed interpersonal communication skills
- Capacity to work autonomously, manage competing deadlines, problem solve and demonstrate initiative
- Computer skills and experience with relevant software
- Current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
- Current Working with Children’s Check or willingness to obtain one
Highly Desirable:
- Experience managing direct reports
- Knowledge of workplace regulatory environment for performing arts
- Budget development and management
