Dark Mofo is Tasmania’s iconic midwinter festival of art, music, food and noise, pushing boundaries and bringing extraordinary experiences to life. We’re looking for Production Managers to join the team that turns wild ideas into reality. This role is all about planning, logistics and leadership – keeping venues, suppliers, staff and schedules on track while working hand-in-hand with creative teams to deliver ambitious projects at scale.
The Gig
- Lead and support onsite teams to deliver projects to the highest standard.
- Develop and manage event production schedules, rosters and logistics.
- Coordinate builds, pack downs and onsite operations across multiple venues and sites.
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors and internal teams to deliver infrastructure, staffing and services.
- Oversee venue operations and ensure smooth delivery of performances and installations.
- Support project managers in developing budgets and flagging potential overruns.
- Manage safety and compliance documentation, inductions and emergency procedures.
- Provide input on site layouts, crowd flow, and event operational planning.
The You
- Solid experience in festival or large-scale event production.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams.
- Excellent organisational and scheduling skills — thrives on complexity and detail.
- Calm, assertive and solutions-focused under pressure.
- Experience managing budgets, suppliers and contractors.
- Knowledge of event safety, compliance and operational systems.
- Collaborative and flexible, with a solid work ethic and ability to work flexible hours.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable with production planning tools.
