The City of Fremantle is recruiting casual Production Manager to support the delivery of its festival program from November 2024 to June 2025. The Production Manager – Arts will assist in the delivery of production requirements across the City of Fremantle’s Art programs including Fremantle Arts Centre live events, Moore Building Art Space and annual Festivals programs in collaboration with City of Fremantle staff, production crews and contracted services including first aid, security & traffic management services.
Key responsibilities include:
Tasks include, but are not necessarily limited to:
- Operational delivery – coordinating the production resourcing and delivery requirements for art events in the City in collaboration with the City of Fremantle staff, artists, venues and other relevant stakeholders.
- Planning & scheduling – attendance to pre planning meetings with City of Fremantle and key stakeholders (internal and external). Development of production schedules, delivery and risk management plans in collaboration with event Producers.
- Staff management – coordination and management of production crews in accordance with the production schedule and delivery plans. Managing crew rosters in accordance with the City of Fremantle workforce agreement.
- Audience Management – manage audiences at free and ticketed events
- Contractor management – serving as the first point of contact for external contractors from quote through to service delivery.
- Artist liaison – managing the provision of production requirements for artists and providing support as required in event delivery.
- Technical production – ensuring the effective delivery of all technical requirements including sound, lighting, rigging, staging and AV, both directly and through delegation across the production and contractor teams.
- Manual handling and physical labour – Completing and supervising required manual handling tasks in accordance with OSH Regulation 1996 and the City of Fremantle policy.
To be considered for this position, you will need:
- Experience in the production and technical delivery for outdoor live events and performing arts festivals including skills in sound, AV, lighting, rigging and staging.
- Strong communication and positive team member.
- Experience in managing audiences at live events, free & ticketed
- Knowledge of current risk management processes and procedures.
- Effective time management, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines; Experience developing plans and schedules
- Current driver’s license.
- Current National Police Clearance
