ABOUT THE ROLEThe Production Manager is responsible for the planning and delivery of Carriageworks presented and produced events. Including the coordination and allocation of production and technical resources, allocation of technical staff and ensuring the timely and on-budget delivery of technical and production outcomes.
This role works closely with Carriageworks commercial, food and technical teams to provide event and logistics support for productions, events, functions, and exhibitions commissioned, produced, or co-produced by Carriageworks.
The Production Manager will provide strong management and leadership in the planning and presentation of productions and will lead the Technical team in the delivery and provision of high-quality service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide production management to productions and events by leading all elements of coordination, planning and management., including the preparation of schedules, production and technical budgets, cost estimates and invoicing.
- Coordinate, manage and implement the technical, venue-specific logistical and operational requirements for productions, events and exhibitions commissioned, produced, or co-produced by Carriageworks and for external hirers.
- Provide technical advice within agreed budgets developed or overseen by the Director Events and Production
- Produce and manage production schedules including project timelines.
- Provide high level customer service to ensure that all artists, co?presenters and clients’ needs are met.
- Work in partnership with Curators, Producers, and external Production Managers to ensure events and programs are planned and run effectively.
- Prepare and manage production budgets and schedules as required.
- Supervise technical teams and external contractors.
- Participate in the development of technical operating and WH&S policies and procedures to ensure that Carriageworks operates safely and efficiently.
- Ensure invoicing at all stages during the contracting and event period is accurate and on time.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new systems and ongoing efficiencies across Carriageworks
- Communicate clearly and efficiently with clients and partners while recognising that different solutions are required to meet the needs and expectations of a diverse range of clients.
- Ensure a consistent and high-level of presentation standards are achieved for all projects
- Promote and maintain a work culture that is sustainable, collegiate, and focussed on achieving high level outcomes
- Work with an awareness of and a commitment to all Workplace Health and Safety policies, procedures, and work practices.
- Other duties as required.
