About the role
The successful Production Manager will be responsible for delivering all technical requirements of delegated productions to the highest artistic and technical standards, on time and within budget, while ensuring the successful dissemination and sharing of production information to the relevant staff in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day to day management of all technical requirements of allocated productions
- Negotiate and manage contracts for suppliers ensuring deliverables and work completed is consistent with Company standards
- Ensure venue requirements (legal, statutory and WHS) are met, and clearly communicated to staff and suppliers, and ensure appropriate training is provided
- Realise the creative team’s vision and manage all technical requirements for delegated productions in a timely, efficient, safe and cost-effective manner
- Advise Technical Director of insurance requirements for delegated productions and collate insurance documentation from suppliers
- Manage the technical budgets of delegated productions from delivery of concept through to manufacturing, staging, crewing, storage and maintenance
- Develop high-level plans for season and production logistics, including transportation, bump-in, strike and storage
About you
The successful Production Manager will have over three years of leadership experience, along with over five years of technical management experience. Knowledge and experience in multiple aspects of technical theatre (e.g. lighting, electrics; sound; carpentry; welding; properties; rigging; computer drafting; or theatrical production software) is also preferred.
You must also have:
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, including strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and control own workload.
- You will have exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and be able to build and maintain strong working relationships.
- A strong focus on continuous improvement
- A team player who is self-motivated and shows initiative
