Production Manager

Phaseshift Productions is a Melbourne based lighting company that has been providing top-end lighting solutions for over 30 years catering to the Music Industry including both local and International, Corporate Events, Touring, Festivals and Theatre.

Our experience and team of highly skilled technicians can design, develop, install, operate and remove a complete lighting system no matter the scale.

Position Description
The Production Manager will work alongside the production management team and other technical staff to manage the wide range of Phaseshift’s events and projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients to achieve their artistic vision and production values to the highest possible standards within the parameters set by the company. The Production Manager will have responsibility for the realisation of all the technical and design elements of a production and will ensure the most effective utilisation of people, resources and systems within the agreed budget, schedule and parameters.

Ideally, the production manager will grow with the business as it continues to expand and evolve while working across multiple facets of the entertainment industry.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Collaboration with management, creative and production departments to accurately develop costs and quotes for new projects.
Develop and manage budget, schedule, equipment, transport and crewing requirements for multiple projects in conjunction with the rest of the Phaseshhift Productions team.
Assist with the delivery of WH&S components for both projects and internal procedures.
Manage the delivery of projects as required, including adapting to changing and evolving goals as is common in the entertainment industry.
Act as a point of contact for clients and staff alike during the planning and delivery phases of production.

Required Skills
A minimum of five years real-world experience in production management in the entertainment industry.
Proficient computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and a working knowledge of VectorWorks, Wysiwyg or similar CAD programs.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organisational skills.
Outstanding customer service and the ability to communicate effectively and passionately with clients and understand their needs.
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets and to balance creative goals with financial realities.
A demonstrated understanding of standard WH&S procedures including creation of SWMS and risk assessments.
Ability to work with, train and develop staff of all skill levels.
A clean criminal record and ability to pass a Working with Children Check.
A strong desire to work on exciting, unusual and challenging projects.
A current valid driver’s licence.

Highly Desirable Skills
Specialised but not limited to the lighting area of the entertainment industry.
The ability to remain calm, professional and positive under pressure.

Hours of Work
The usual hours of work are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. However, the job requires a willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and possibly some travelling required.

Salary and Entitlements
* Salary is dependent on skills and experience
* 4 weeks annual leave
* Overtime and time in lieu
* 9.5% superannuation
* Company entitlements
