In 2018, Perth Festival will create three 3-5 minute documentary films in collaboration with Western Australian high school students. This project will be intense, wide-ranging and may involve some travel within the state. We are seeking expressions of interest for the position of Production Manager that will be responsible for the logistical organisation of the films.
Background
With the generous support of Screenwest, Perth Festival invites high school students from across Western Australia to create short documentaries with the support of a mentor film-maker and a professional documentary production crew. The inspiration for the 2019 documentary project is ‘the ground beneath our feet’; a theme explored in the outdoor spectacle Boorna Waanginy which returns to Kings Park in February 2019. Students will be supported to make films which explore their proximate environment, the interconnectedness of life and how we can all care for the ground beneath our feet. To fully realise the artistic goals of the project, film proposals from regional WA will be particularly encouraged.
Screenwest and Perth Festival are thrilled to offer this opportunity again in 2019 following the success of Perth Festival’s Water Features documentary project in 2017 / 2018 Festival.
