Production Manager

  • Full Time Fixed Term 12 Months
  • Salary range $85k – $90k plus overtime

Melbourne Theatre Company is seeking a suitably qualified and highly experienced theatrical Production Manager to work closely with the Technical & Production Director and the Senior Production Manager to manage and coordinate all technical and production aspects of assigned Productions and Events, during the pre-production phase through to delivery of the Production to the venue and to the end of the season.

The purpose of this role is to production manage assigned shows in order to achieve the Creative team’s vision while ensuring the most effective use of staffing and materials resourcing in the realisation of the technical elements of the designs within the agreed budget, time and technical parameters.

Key Criteria

  • Minimum of 4 years relevant industry experience preferably within a producing theatre company.
  • Effective communication skills both oral and written.
  • Project management skills with a logical and analytical approach to planning and the allocation of resources.
  • Highly Organised and able to prioritise competing demands.
  • The ability to work collaboratively, engaging in extensive consultation with Production/Technical teams, Creatives and Consultants.
  • The ability to remain calm, professional and positive in a high-pressured position where time and resources are limited and artistic expectation are high.
