An exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced individual to join QPAC in the full-time, 2-year term role of Production Manager.
Sitting in the Curatorial portfolio and reporting to the Director – Programming, this role will be responsible for production managing and delivering to a high standard, projects and productions within QPAC’s annual program that vary in scale, presentation mode and level of complexity. As the conduit between Curatorial and Production, you will identify, develop, manage and oversee technical, logistical and operational requirements for events and productions within QPAC’s annual program.
Other key functions of this critical role include developing, monitoring and reporting on the production budget and festival and touring budgets, including staff costs and acting as a technical contributor to the artistic process on new commission developed, presented and toured by QPAC. This role is also responsible for developing and implementing systematic collaborations across departments to ensure event planning and delivery of contractual arrangements are executed to the required standard and both internal and external client service expectations are met.
In order to be successful in this position, you will ideally possess a tertiary qualification in an arts discipline with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in production management. Art-form specialisation and community cultural development experience is desirable but not essential. You will also possess:
• Demonstrated ability to identify, produce and manage arts projects of a complex nature with multiple stakeholders and objectives.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people and successfully negotiate issues of a complex and sensitive nature
• Knowledge in multiple art forms and a strong local and national network in the performing arts.
• Demonstrated ability to undertake, organise and prioritise multiple and complex projects from initial stages through to completion.
• Excellent leadership capability and demonstrated ability to effectively manage and lead a team of people.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and manage a budget.
• Ability to work outside of normal business hours where required.
