Production Manager

THE ORGANISATION

University Theatres oversees the live performance spaces of the University of Western Australia, including the Octagon Theatre and Winthrop Hall. University Theatres welcomes to our diverse and unique venues professional producers and promoters and a range of community groups and University departments.

THE JOB

The Production Manager manages all day-to-day operations of the Technical department, including:

  • Recruitment, rostering and management of our casual technical staff
  • Working closely with the Bookings Department to ensure accurate estimates and efficient production schedules
  • Client liaison for smooth event delivery
  • Ensuring all Technical Department operations conform to Occupational Health and Safety standards and safe working practices in theatres.

This is a permanent full-time position that includes operational shifts.

THE CANDIDATE

The position will suit applicants with substantial experience of technical theatre and dance with an ability to work independently, accurately and efficiently to meet deadlines and deliver great customer service to our clients.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent time management
  • The ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience in the delivery of technical life performance events
  • Experience supervising and rostering a team
  • Competence in theatrical suspension, electrics, audio and AV
  • A good working knowledge of industry health and safety practices
  • Working at heights qualification
  • Manual handling training
  • First Aid qualification
  • Knowledge of Priava software will be beneficial
