ABOUT THE ROLE
The Production Coordinator at Union House Theatre is responsible for providing production and event support for student theatre and the Union House Theatre program.
The Production Coordinator for the student theatre season is a member of a collaborative working environment within Union House Theatre and operates under the broad direction of the Artistic Director/Theatre Coordinator. As part of the production team, the Production Coordinator works with the Head Technician and Stage Carpenter/Mechanist to support a positive student theatre experience. The incumbent will work closely with students in the delivery of performances, ensure that a safe work environment is maintained, and will also maintain UHT’s risk management systems on behalf of UHT staff and students.
Some of your Key Accountabilities will include:
- Oversee production coordination of activities within the performing arts venues
- Convening production meetings with student theatre groups, while ensuring OHS compliance
- Share responsibility of production planning, resourcing, and scheduling while also actively advising and working with students
- Support administrative functions of the production team.

ABOUT YOU
To succeed in this position, you will possess relevant Technical Theatre qualifications (e.g. lighting, audio or stage management) equivalent to a trades certificate or Certificate III, coupled with significant experience in a related field, or a relevant combination of skills knowledge and/or training. A valid Working with Children Check and first aid accreditation will also be required.
Essential to your success will be your proven track record in the provision of stellar stage maintenance and set-up services, including a demonstrated ability to supervise less-experienced students.
In addition, your extensive experience in relevant industry and stage/production management and ability to work with diverse groups and people will see you successfully pass on your knowledge and provide great support to the back of house and front of house operations at the University’s performing arts venues to foster an artistic and entertaining environment on campus.

This is a full time (35 hours per week), fixed term 5-month position with a starting base salary of $82,449 plus superannuation.
