About the vacancy

With an eventful year of shows scheduled, we are looking for 2 customers focused production professionals, who are passionate about arts and culture to join the diverse and dynamic Production Department. 

Reporting to the Head of Technical and Production, these positions are a key stakeholder in facilitating the relationship between Adelaide Festival Centre and its internal and external hirers. In order to be successful in the role you will be experienced in coordinating a venues’ productions to a world class standard and ensuring technical excellence, efficiency and cost effectiveness are maintained. Qualifications or RPL status for Certificate IV or Diploma in a relevant field, and previous experience in a similar role will be looked upon favourably.

The vacancies will be offered on full-time fixed term contracts of 3 years

Responsibilities      

  • Liaise with venue hirers to determine their needs and develop creative solutions that provide a balance between the hirers and Adelaide Festival Centre requirements
  • Ensure events are scheduled and all necessary parties informed, including inputting and updating schedule information into EBMS
  • Develop and coordinate production schedules for Adelaide Festival Centre produced festivals, including pre and post festival planning, production bump in and bump out requirements, and logistics for all production related events and activities both in the Centre and externally
  • Prepare quotations for productions / events / festivals and monitor spending to ensure is within budget
  • Liaise with the Adelaide Festival Centre Programming department to assist with delivery of Adelaide Festival Centre presented programming including OzAsia, Guitar, DreamBIG and Cabaret Festivals
  • Liaise with Heads of Department, Production Crews and other Production Coordinators to ensure appropriate staffing levels are allocated as per hirer requirements

Competencies and Skills

  • Effective communication skills to ensure instructions and standards are communicated, understood and implemented
  • Ability to work effectively within a team setting and take responsibility for decisions made
  • Ability to develop and standardise systems 
  • Ability to plan and research to facilitate successful delivery of events.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • A sound understanding of WH&S practices within the arts industry with the ability to manage and reinforce appropriate practices with all stakeholders.
  • A sound understanding of the entertainment industry, its terminology, traditions and protocol
  • Successful completing or obtainment of RPL status for Cert IV or Diploma in a related field is highly desirable
