Arts House is Melbourne’s centre for contemporary and experimental performance. A core program of the City of Melbourne and based at the North Melbourne Town Hall, Arts House is a magnet attracting artists and audiences across the city, developing contemporary performance with a national and international reach. Currently we are recruiting for a new Production Coordinator.
The position … this role is responsible for providing high quality production planning and management services, technical support and expertise. You will work closely with the Creative team, organisational partners, artists and presenters to ensure production and technical requirements are met to enable safe and effective delivery of the Arts House program. This role supervises casual production and technical staff.
We need an experienced industry professional to join the Arts House team. You will be someone who can strategically think on how to put on the best production, with risk, budget and space in mind. You will know how to co-ordinate the planning of production and technical requirements, and your aim is to always ensure seamless presentations, productions and events.
We are looking for experience, a can do attitude, the ability to perform administration and financial functions. We want you to be able to present exciting ideas and provide out of the box solutions that are not only financially feasible but improve user and participation experience. You will be a positive team member that loves fostering collaboration and motivation amongst their staff.

You will have…(selection criteria)
- significant experience in a Production/Technical support position within arts programming, venues or festivals and in particular contemporary performing arts context
- highly developed ability to plan, co-ordinate and implement production schedules and requirements including sound, lighting and AV equipment
- solid understanding of and experience working with diverse stakeholders such as creative teams, artists, external contractors, government agencies and technical support service providers
- previous experience successfully managing all aspects of casual technical crew, including training, rostering and administration
- strong project management, problem solving and administrative skills (including computer and reporting skills).
