Opera Queensland is seeking a Production Coordinator to contribute to the creation and delivery of our performance and events program across metro, regional and remote Queensland.
We are an innovative arts organisation whose vision is to grow a community connected by the transformative power of opera, and the production team plays an important role in delivering the artistic vision of the organisation.
Reporting to the Director of Technical Production, the Production Coordinator will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide production support (both practical and administrative) across a wide range of activities including live performance presentations, outdoor events and functions. This role will also contribute to the daily operational requirements of Opera Queensland.

About You
- Minimum of three years’ experience in an arts organisation, venue, festival and/or entertainment environment in a similar role.
- Practical knowledge in the set-up and operation of sound, lighting, and vision equipment.
- Understanding of the work and operations in production workshops, transport, logistics and storage.
- Knowledge of stagecraft, theatre production and scenic construction, rigging, automation, lighting, video, sound and projection.
- Experience with use of CAD programs.
- Experience with touring productions and outdoor presentations is desirable.
- Qualifications, training, and licences for Working at Heights, Elevating Work Platform (EWP), First Aid is highly desirable.
- Open C class Driver’s Licence is essential
- Problem solving and analytical skills including creative/lateral thinking and the ability to interpret non-technical requests into technical specification information.
- Knowledge and understanding of WHS policies and procedures and a commitment to prioritise and safeguard the health and safety of everyone in the workplace. Cert IV WHS desirable.
- High level working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Excel and Powerpoint.
- Blue card or Necessary Exemption of BlueCard – Working with Children Check

Travel and Outside Office Hours Work
Due to the nature of the organisation, it is a requirement of the position to attend and/or support events, productions, rehearsals and other business activities outside of normal office hours.
