Are you passionate about technical operations, and are interested in a hands-on production coordination position?
The MSO is seeking a Productions Coordinator to join our Operations team on full time maximum term basis until December 2022 with a start date of ASAP!
Reporting to Head of Orchestral Operations, the Production Coordinator is responsible for coordination of production and technical requirements of allocated MSO concerts and events, stage set-up, stage changes and pack downs, as well as many aspects of the Orchestra’s OHS systems. You will also be responsible for maintaining the Orchestra’s store, assets and equipment, and coordinating equipment hires and loans. The Production Coordinator is also required to provide production and technical support to all aspects of the MSO as required. This position is being offered as a 9-month fixed term contract, with the possibility of extending.

What you’ll need:
- Current Drivers Licence;
- Relevant staging experience in concerts and/or theatre including knowledge of technical aspects of lighting and sound;
- Experience in working in an artistic environment including communicating with performers and carrying out on-stage duties;
- Experience with computer systems including Word, Excel and Database systems;
- A current employee WWCC, or the ability to obtain one;
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or holding an authorised exemption.
Desirable criteria:
- Previous experience working in production for professional orchestras;
- A degree in either technical theatre or music, or the desire to attain these qualifications;
- Experience in using technical drawing programs such as AutoCad or Vectorworks;
- Workshop skills for construction in wood, metal and other materials. Experience in general repairs and maintenance of orchestral or similar equipment;
- Interest/qualifications in the area of Occupational Health and Safety;
- Ability to read music;
- Heavy Vehicle Licence;
- Forklift Licence;
- Test and tagging licence;
- Qualification in First Aid.
