Hospitality are specialists in delivering meetings and events for internal and external clients across a variety of venues, including the UNSW City Centre, John Niland Scientia Building, Clancy Auditorium, Science Theatre, and the brand-new state-of-the-art UNSW Live Streaming Studio. Hospitality coordinate and deliver the venue logistics and audio-visual support.
UNSW Hospitality are committed to providing the best production services possible and have embarked on an ambitious audio-visual asset refresh with a focus on more sustainable technologies. Nearly 50% of our technology portfolio is currently being updated to ensure our team have the latest technology to work with.
Some of the AV equipment and software you will work with includes NewTek TriCaster video switchers, BlackMagic ATEM video switchers, Dataton Watchout video servers, Allen & Heath dLive 3500, SQ6 & SQ5 audio mixers, Sony PXW-Z280 4K HDR cameras, Panasonic AW-UE100 PTZ cameras, Hog 4 lighting consoles, Wirecast Studio and the Abobe Create Cloud Suite (free for all staff).
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will work in a team of four Production Assistants who are responsible for the day-to-day venue and event operations, liaising with clients to ensure their event requirements are met, as well as ensuring all event AV technology is maintained.
Why Your Role Matters:
The Production Team are responsible for providing superior customer services in scoping, consulting, and delivering audio-visual services to internal and external clients. You will work on concerts, conferences, eisteddfods, gala dinners, video production, virtual live streams and more as well as supporting core University activities on campus.
Who You Are:
You have 1+ years’ experience working within the audio-visual industry, as well as:
- Experience with the setup and operation of audio-visual systems for live events
- Ability to diagnose and fix audio-visual system faults
- Excellent customer service skills
- Availability to work weekends and evenings as required (additional loading)
- Ability to collaborate with team members as well as working autonomously
- Manual handling of equipment and furniture will be required
- Experience with live streaming virtual events preferred
- Experience with video editing desirable but not essential
- Possess or willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC)
