Nextgen Rentals has taken onboard twenty-four ShowPro PixPads the fabulous eye candy lighting that is taking the events market by storm.
The PixPads can be used as a standard wash type fixture or you can individually control each RGB pixel to make patterns or display text. The variety of effects achievable with a few PixPads is astounding plus they are lightweight and incredibly quick and easy to set up.
Initially Nextgen purchased the PixPads for a client who owned a car dealership and wanted something special to attract attention to the showroom during a three day sales promotion. As the PixPads are so bright and thus highly visible during the daytime as well as night, they were the perfect solution.
“The showroom is set a fair way back from the main road but they are still very noticeable,” explained Guy McGregor, director at Nextgen. “At first I was thinking of getting some LED MultiPARs to do some uplighting but I visited Paul Nicolaou at Show Technology’s Melbourne office and he suggested the PixPads. They can do the required uplighting but also so much more.”
The car promotion was so successful, the client has booked the PixPads for another promotion meaning that just two projects have paid off fifty percent of their initial purchase.
Nextgen also displayed their PixPads at the recent Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
“We had a lot of interest in them,” added Guy. “We also have them going into a project at Crown this month. I really like the PixPad’s intensity, they are so bright. Visually, they’re very appealing. They are a great set piece and as we always like to use our lighting and AV gear as part of the overall scene, they fit in well.”
