Homebush West Public School contacted Phantos for a quote to supply and install lighting truss and stage curtains system in their school hall. The school hall was built back around 2008 to 2010 with a raised stage. There were no overhead lighting bars or curtain tracks installed.
Phantos had an onsite meeting with school teachers and inspected the roof to plan out rigging options for new lighting truss and curtain tracks. A quote was submitted along with a concept CAD drawing of the finished curtain systems with lighting bar. A motorised main house curtain system and five manual rope system were allowed and all curtains are made of 550g heavy duty wool or velvet IFR fabrics. A 9m long 290mm TUV certified lighting truss was suspended from the ceiling via steel wire ropes to allow 2 bottom cords for curtains and future stage lights fit-out.
The school has chosen velvet IFR fabric curtain for main house curtains and side wings at 75% fullness and wool curtains for all other drapes at 50% fullness. All curtains and drapes tracks are suspended from the ceiling to the same finished height to offer a uniformed look. The main house curtain is operated by GRT TC40 electric curtain system with wired and wireless remote controller and heavy-duty aluminium curtain tracks. All curtains are tagged according to Australian fire safety standards.
The project was headed by Phantos lead installer Robert along with other team members at various stages. A structure engineer reviewed the work done and issued a certificate for the front truss which will be used to hang stage lights in the future.
