Performing Arts Centre Trainee

Position No. T2

Temporary Full-time (up to 12 months)

Remuneration in accordance with National Training Award.

Undertake a Certificate in Arts and Culture Administration while gaining hands-on experience.

Are you looking to pursue a career in the Arts and Entertainment industry?

The Wedge performing Arts Centre, located in Sale Victoria, is an award-winning centre for performing arts and entertainment, complete with a 390- seat theatre, 50-seat black box studio, café and dining facilities, function and rehearsal rooms. The Centre presents over 150 events each year, with a wide variety of local, professional and community programs, with an attendance of over 50,000 each year.

What your day will look like:

  • Providing visitors with show and venue information.
  • Box office customer service and venue ticket sales.
  • Taking care of general arts administration tasks.
  • Opportunities to assist in setting up and running events and theatre productions.
  • Assisting with social media, graphic design and marketing tasks for The Wedge.

What you will gain:

  • Certificate in Arts and Culture Administration.
  • Gain valuable hands-on industry experience.

We are looking for someone with:

  • A desire to gain experience in and be a part of the performing arts industry.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Computer skills and who is capable of using Social Media platforms.
  • Well developed communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to work together with a wide range of people.
  • Who is reliable and can show how they can work well within a team while keeping up with changes and the fast pace of the industry.
