Australian metal royalty Parkway Drive with orchestra played a one-off, filmed show called “Home” at the Sydney Opera House and judging by the reviews, not only was it one of the best Parkway Drive shows, but also one of the best gigs ever !!!
It was a challenging gig for ei Productions, who supplied full lighting and rigging.
The interesting lighting design featured overhead trusses, side lighting, and floor lighting for the orchestra, as well as multiple vertical trusses.
As it was being filmed and recorded for future release, and since it was the only show, the system had to be 100% reliable and fully prepared.
The system, mainly on Global Pre-Rig Truss, featured 11 x Martin MAC Viper XIP (with five used as Macula Remote Follow Spots), 8 x Martin MAC Aura PXL, 47 x Ayrton Eurus, 16 x GLP X-Bar20, 4 x GLP JDC-1, LED Duets and 83 x Astera PixelBrick.
Control consisted of an MA Lighting grandMA3 full-size + MA3 light and NPU.
Parkway Drives’ production manager said ei Productions did an amazing job, and the advance planning/drawing, and rig prep was unreal.
