HME Services is thrilled to announce that esteemed industry stalwart Nick Cook has joined our team as a Project Manager.
“‘Nick joins our dedicated and knowledgeable team at a very exciting time for the industry,” remarked Glenn Harris, Director of HME. “Nick’s exceptional industry knowledge and broad experience are a huge asset to us and our clients.”
Nick has been working in the live performance industry for the past 20 years, starting his career as a lighting technician for live music in the UK.
Moving into cruise ship work enabled him to develop skills working across various technical disciplines and in a more structured corporate environment. Nick became a technical manager for Carnival Cruise Lines and his operational skills grew as he was responsible for multiple venues operating to the highest possible standard.
Moving to Australia, Nick moved into the venue management side of the industry, taking on the Head of Technical Operations role firstly for Foundation Theatres, the owner and operator of the Capitol Theatre and Sydney Lyric and then the Sydney Coliseum, a brand new theatre that he was part of the opening team for.
2021 saw Nick join the team at Trafalgar Entertainment as Technical Manager of the Theatre Royal Sydney as part of the team that helped rebuild and reopen this iconic Sydney Theatre. Nick came on board the project at the start of the internal fit-out and ran the scope and scope budget for all of the theatrical works. He also developed and implemented all of the venue WHS policies and procedures.
