Waves Audio has announced new updates to its Cloud MX Audio Mixer Premium subscription, which combines the Cloud MX cloud-based broadcast audio mixer with more than 150 audio processors, including the addition of Waves Stream to the array of plugins included in Cloud MX Premium.
Waves Stream enables remote monitoring capabilities in a single click for sharing audio directly to mobile devices or DAWs over WAN. Also added in this new update are two more plugins: Waves Silk Vocal, a smart EQ and dynamics processor; and Magma Tube Channel Strip, covering compression/gating, EQ and saturation.
Cloud MX is compatible with major cloud platforms and protocols, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Dante Connect. It also integrates with Grass Valley AMPP for cloud-based live broadcast production and is NDI-compatible for easier routing of NDI audio for all ingress/egress streams.
The main new addition, Waves Stream, is a plugin and web service designed to make quality audio sharing a part of the collaborative creative process, designed to be an efficient method for audio distribution over the internet. It can be instantiated on any channel or bus within the Cloud MX mixer, and integrates with a mobile web browser or a user’s preferred DAW.
Complementing systems like Dante and NDI, Waves Stream integrates into existing workflows and offers direct monitoring capabilities for key personnel, whether for technical check-ups or routine monitoring when away from the mixer.
Leveraging a peer-to-peer WebRTC connection for low latency, Waves Stream is designed to provide efficient mono or stereo audio transmission. By scanning a QR code or using a dedicated URL with password protection, remote collaborators can receive audio directly and securely in a web browser on a mobile device or computer.
