With Parrtjima Australia – A Festival in Light done and dusted for another year, we want to take a moment to thank the teams at AGB Events and NT Major Events Company for their work in ensuring the event went ahead as scheduled, during a time when almost no events are happening. It’s a credit to their hard work and professionalism and needless to say has meant a lot to us and our employees.
What can we say about the lighting design? Each year we think it’s the best and each year, Richard Neville and the amazing artists involved wow us all over. It really is a jaw-dropping display and it continues to be a pleasure to work with the entire team at Mandylights. You can bet there’s always something beautiful, exciting and creative on the horizon with them!
The two old blokes we sent on the job, Matt Hansen and Michael Parsons, were fortunately assisted by some younger and fitter lads, Justin and Michael from JAM Productions (Cairns), on the load-in and it definitely wouldn’t have happened without them and the assistance of the local crew. You’re all absolute legends!
It’s not an entirely great feeling to post about doing a show during such a tough time for our industry, we know so many companies and individuals are struggling to stay afloat and we hope we can all go back to the jobs we love soon. With the likelihood of this show being our only show for quite a while, its theme of lifting spirits is certainly a good one and the event getting off the ground proves shows can happen and that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
We feel very fortunate to be involved in such a spectacular event, and those feelings are tenfold this year.
