South Australia’s Mosaic Audio Visual recently purchased a Martin M1 console to bolster their rental inventory.
“We had used the Martin M1 console a number of times and my staff really liked it,” commented Craig Williams, Director of Mosaic. “It was an easy decision and the console went straight out on a variety of musicals including Legally Blonde and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.”
Craig remarks that the Martin M1 console has delivered consistency to his department and that it is a very capable console that can be applied to corporate events as well as theatre events.
“The M1 makes choosing colour palettes and groups very simple,” he said. “It really is a very intuitive console. It offers a lot of playbacks and it’s easy to grab things on the fly if needed. It also has a solid build and of course the famous Martin reliability.”
Pictured is Charles Grabham, a Scotch College Adelaide year 12 student who has been doing tech at the school since year 9 and finds the M1 a breeze to operate. Charles was operating the lighting for a production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
“Charles was able to step off the college’s ETC console, spend 90 minutes on the Martin M1 and then program the entire show with the lighting designer over his shoulder telling him what to do” said Craig. “After a couple of plotting sessions he had built 105 cues including LED’s and moving lights. He is a bright kid but the console certainly enabled him to work his way through it easily.”
Craig added that his Martin M1 console has performed flawlessly and he can’t fault it!
