Queensland’s Ipswich Civic Centre has added an MA Lighting MA2 light to its existing MA family of an MA2 ultra-light, two MA2 command wings, one MA2 fader wing and assorted nodes.
“We like to keep updated with the latest in lighting technology and we’ve had a long-term plan to change all of our control over to MA2,” commented Ben Harth, lighting technician at the Ipswich Civic Centre. “Compared to the MA1, our MA2 light is definitely a lot quicker – in terms of start up as well as navigation. It’s just a matter of learning the slightly different navigational layout of the console.”
Ben admits he is still familiarising himself with the MA2 light but comments that the technicians in The Studio have loved their MA2 ultra-light.
“They rave about the effects engine and of course the fact that it easily networks with our older MA1 control,” he said. “The way that the LTP features work out in MA2 has been fantastic and the new tracking features are great.”
