Moment Factory, the global multidisciplinary entertainment studio, celebrates the opening of its 25th Lumina Enchanted Night Walk, Astra Lumina, at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in Australia. This latest achievement solidifies the company’s position at the forefront of innovative night experiences, coinciding with a prestigious recognition: being named one of the most innovative companies of 2025 by Fast Company.

With this new milestone, the company reinforces the success of the Lumima Enchanted Night Walks series as a revenue-generating solution for tourism and cultural attractions. Since its inception in 2014 in Canada, the multiple award-winning series has sold more than five million tickets worldwide, showing the continued demand for the concept.
“The Lumina Enchanted Night Walks series is a collection of evening attractions that transform outdoor spaces into immersive experiences, allowing for the repurposing of sites and broadening visitor demographics. Each path features multiple zones, weaving a unique storyworld inspired by the site’s history, beauty, or cultural significance — all brought to life with stunning lighting, original music, and special effects, guiding visitors on enchanted journeys through natural environments.” explains Jonathan St-Onge, Executive Director, Originals at Moment Factory.

A Turnkey Solution with Environmental Awareness
Moment Factory’s Enchanted Night Walks combine unique storytelling and multimedia design to transform landscapes into immersive, interactive narratives. Customizable and scalable, these experiences range from seasonal activations to permanent installations and can be adapted to various settings, including forests, urban parks, heritage sites, botanical gardens, and ski resorts.
As Joe Eck, Chief Operating Officer at Wilderness Resorts and Waterparks, highlights: “We’ve been collaborating with Moment Factory for years and are consistently impressed by their team’s sophistication. After the success of Kaleidoscope Kavern, we launched Aquavia Lumina in October 2024, boosting evening attendance and visitor diversity. Moment Factory’s adaptability has been key in helping us stand out and push the boundaries of innovation.”

Inspired by the beauty of the natural sites they inhabit, Moment Factory’s Night Walks are designed to seamlessly blend with their surroundings, incorporating site-sensitive installations and energy-efficient lighting. A prime example is Kamuy Lumina in Japan’s UNESCO-protected Akan Mashu National Park, where Moment Factory dedicated over a year to research and development, creating custom technologies to ensure the project’s harmonious integration with its delicate ecosystem.
“The unspoiled nature that people have preserved, the activities enjoyed throughout the seasons, and the Ainu culture are key tourism assets of Akan. To enhance these experiences, we explored opportunities and discovered Moment Factory’s Night Walk series. Moving forward with the project required aligning the aspirations of multiple stakeholders, market trends, and government policies. Kamuy Lumina represents a collaborative effort to create meaningful engagement while striving toward our ultimate vision—establishing Akan as the world’s premier hot spring resort.” Mr. Eichi Yamada, Chief of Business Planning and General Affairs at Kamuy Lumina.

Looking Ahead: The Rise of Experiential Tourism
Astra Lumina Gold Coast, the 25th Lumina experience, marks a milestone as the first permanent installation in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere, expanding the presence of Lumina Night Walks across four continents. With locations in Canada, Japan, France, the U.S., Singapore, China, and now Australia, Lumina experiences have become a global phenomenon and will continue with upcoming projects in Turkey and South America.
As the demand for experiential tourism grows, Moment Factory remains at the forefront of redefining nighttime attractions, offering destinations a versatile, high-impact solution to captivate visitors and extend operating hours and days.
