Mechanist / Automation Operator

About the role:

Duties as Mechanist/Automation Operator include, but are not limited to the following:

(a)            Execute Mechanist plot during each performance, which includes operation of automation console.

(b)           Maintain the technical standard set by the Production Manager.

(c)            Ensure that the physical production elements are maintained and remain in good and safe working order.

(d)           Maintain all tools, hardware and the equipment of the Production during the run of the Production.

(e)            Aid in the maintenance of the physical function of the production pertaining to sets / automation and report on all issues as they present themselves.

(f)             Maintain an equipment schedule and electronic maintenance log at all times.

(g)            Maintain an incident log.

(h)           Ensure that no changes are made to the performance running or physical production elements without the prior consent of the Production Manager, Stage Manager or Company Manager.

(i)             Prepare, update and keep current all relevant show plots.

(j)             Attend production and staff meetings and implement requests from these meetings as directed.

(k)            Follow the OHS policies in place and as they are modified from time to time:

(i)          Be responsible for ensuring that you follow safety guidelines and OHS policies, use equipment in the recommended manner and use safety equipment as provided.

(ii)         Report any unsafe work practice that requires attention to the Stage Manager, the Production Manager and/or Company Manager and ensure that you adhere to solutions provided and implemented.

(iii)       Participate and contribute to discussions on safety implementations as they arise.

(l)    Other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time as advised by the Production Manager.

About you:

·      You will have a minimum of 1 year experience in a Mechanist role or equivalent.

·      A team player, with excellent communication skills.

·      Self-motivated & takes initiative.

·      Experience in working under pressure.

Commencement date: Immediate Start

Finish date: Run of season, Sydney
