Martin MAC Auras chosen by Entertainment Installations

Entertainment Installations has added twenty-four Martin MAC Auras to their moving lights inventory which now has over two hundred fixtures.

“We’ve been looking at various LED wash units to add to production for a while now and we’ve finally settled on Martin MAC Aura,” commented Neale Mace, managing director of Entertainment Installations. “Although we already have lots of Martin MAC301 and MAC101, we were looking for a small fixture with White LED on board and the Auras fit the bill perfectly.”

Although Neale did consider other options, the MAC Auras’ size, weight, light output and features tipped it over to Martin, not to mention the price.

“Although they’ve been available for a while now, they’re on lots of lighting specs for upcoming shows and tours and our first batch of eighteen went straight out on the Australian tour by English chart toppers Kasabian,” said Neale. “After seeing the Kasabian show at The Horden Pavilion in Sydney, I know we’ve made a good choice with these fixtures – tiny unit, BIG light output, huge zoom and beautiful colours and it’s made by Martin.”

Entertainment Installations supplied lighting gear and production transport to all of Kasabian’s gigs including Perth. The gear was rigged and tech’ed by Bryce Mace and Christian Yanni.

“The bands lighting guy, Paul Kell, did a great looking show,” said Neale. “Paul has been with the band for several years and it shows – he’s great with the changes and cues. There were lots of big beam movements, flashing, chases as well as some great backlighting.”

As well as the brand spanking new MAC Auras, the rig included 20 x Clay Paky Sharpy,16 x Martin Atomic Strobe, 8 x Martin MAC700 Wash, 10 x Molefay Duet, 12 x Molefay 4 Liters, 2 x Robert Juliat Victor Follow spots and 2 x Unique hazers.

Adelaide was a challenging gig for the crew as due to a tragic fatal accident on the only road between Perth and Adelaide (near the SA border), the police closed the road to all traffic and the production truck was delayed by eight hours.

Load in commenced at about 5.30 pm at the Thebarton Theatre for a 8pm start – the ATS drivers, Entertainment Installations and JPJ Audio crew pulled off a small miracle to get the show happening.
