Dale Martin, lighting supervisor at Fox Sports, was looking for a fixture that was bright, compact and light enough to sit on top of the set whilst adding a little bit of spice to a variety of shows.
Twelve Martin MAC101s met his brief with Dale impressed by their speed, colour rendition and that fact that they basically do everything he requires of them!
“I love them!” he declared. “And although power wasn’t a consideration, it’s handy to have LED fixtures drawing so little power.”
Also new are four ProShop LED Tricolour Star curtains which are perfect for backdrops and general theming applications.
“I use them behind the audience on the Monday Night with Matty Johns Show where they are very effective,” said Dale. “I also use them on more intimate one on one interviews for various shows where the set is basically a couple of chairs sitting in front of the star curtain, and it makes a pretty good impact. I really like the colour changing ability of the ProShop LED Tricolour Star curtains.”
Dale also took delivery of one Martin Ready 365 Hazer which is perfect for all studios housed within the Fox Sports Building.
“I can get away with using only one bottle of fluid for the whole rugby league season!” commented Dale. “That’s using it once or twice a week. If there’s too much smoke in the room, I can turn it off and the smoke dissipates fairly quickly. I can also fill the studio in two minutes which is extremely good.”
