The v3 software update for the Mantra Lite console is now available for download on the Mantra Lite product page.
This is a MAJOR update with many new features that have been requested over the last 12-18 months. It also contains a few small changes to the user interface, along with the inevitable bug fixes.
Highlights of v3 update
Remote Triggers.
You can now control the playback of the Mantra Lite from other devices such as touch phones or third-party button panels such as a “Stream Deck” ©.
Any of the following “Actions” can be performed,
- “Play” a specific Memory at any level and with any fade time. Playing a memory at 0% fades it off.
- Play the “Next Cue” in a specific memory (cue-list)
- Turn “All Cues Off”
- Enable or disable the “Live Override” input (see below)
Mantra Lite can also send messages back to other devices to confirm that it responded to a command.
See section 16 of the latest Mantra Mini manual.
New Chase Patterns
The chase screen has been re-designed and includes new chase patterns of reverse and random. See section 13.13 of the manual.
Copy Memory
You can now make a copy of a memory (cue-list).
This new function is very useful if you want to try some changes (on the copy) but still want to keep the original cue-list. Another use of duplicate memories is to use different filters in each duplicate and so have a “colour” cue-list, a “position” cue-list and maybe a “gobo” cue-list that all control the same fixtures. This makes busking a show much easier.
For example, you have some fixtures that have colour and position attributes and you want to randomly playback different combinations of colour and position.
Follow these steps,
- Record a cue-list that has several different cues. Each cue has a different position and a different colour.
- Use the “Copy Memory” button to make a copy of the cue-list.
- Edit the original cue-list and de-select C and B leaving only I and P (intensity and position) included. This is now an intensity and position only cue-list.
- Edit the copied cue-list and de-select I, P and B filters leaving only C (colour) included. This is now a colour only cue-list.
Playing the original (Intensity and Position) cue-list steps the fixtures through the different positions without affecting the colour. Playing the copied (Colour) cue-list steps the fixtures through the different colours without affecting the position or intensity. If each cue-list had 5 different cues, you would have 25 possible combinations of colour and position. If you add another copy with 5 different gobos you have 125 possible combinations. See section 13.10 of the manual.
Name Memory
You can now give each memory (Cue-List) a descriptive name instead of the default name of P#-M# (Page#-Memory#). To change the name of a memory, touch its playback displayer to open the “Edit Memory” screen. Touch in the memory name pane, delete the default name, type the new the name of the memory then press the [Back] button. To restore the default name, delete the new name leaving the name pane empty then press the [Back] button. See section 13.4 of the manual.
Fixture Intensity Levels
Fixture intensity levels are now displayed on home screen beside each fixture number. This allows you to accurately set and match intensity levels. FL = Full. See section 6.2 of the manual.
Art-Net and sACN Output Universe Number
You can now set Art-Net and sACN outputs to any universe number. From the home screen touch Tools, Setup, Universes. See section 4.12 of the manual.
Live override
The output can be overridden by an Art-Net or sACN input from another lighting console. See section 4.12.4 of the manual.
View DMX Output
A new screen showing the DMX output levels of each universe and every DMX slot. From the home screen touch Tools, Setup, Universes, View DMX See section 4.13 of the manual.
Apps Screen
The Apps screen can now only be selected by tapping the [Apps] button. Previously Apps could also be accessed by tapping anywhere on the fixture section.
Colour Sliders App
The Colour Sliders app is now located directly on the Apps screen making it quicker to access. Colour Gels are now accessed from the Colour Picker app. See section 8.6 of the manual.
Select Button
The “Select” screen has been updated and no longer has a [Set] button. See section 8.3 of the manual.
Off Line Show Editor
The “Mantra Editor” program for the Mantra Mini can also be used to off-line edit a show from a Mantra Lite.
