In celebration of LGBT Pride Month 2020, Manley Labs has released MASSIVE PRIDE, a special edition of the company’s classic best-selling MASSIVE PASSIVE Stereo Tube Equalizer with rainbow cosmetics derived from the original 1978 gay pride rainbow flag.
Described as a “Pultec on steroids,” each channel of the MASSIVE PRIDE features four overlapping semi-parametric passive EQ bands, plus individual switchable (five frequency) low/high-pass filters, followed by tube make-up gain stages. The passive equalization circuitry uses metal-film resistors, film capacitors and hand-wound inductors to organically sculpt the tone from subtle to vivid.
It also employs the MANLEY POWER power supply — an innovative design developed specifically for Manley Labs’ high-voltage tube circuitry. This power supply provides 300-volt DC rails to run the tubes, beefy 6-volt lines to power them up, along with several other voltage rails for the phantom power and various solid-state control voltages. All lines are importantly regulated, low-impedance, efficient, and super-quiet in this low-radiating, high-frequency design. The universal mains input accepts any voltage or frequency from anywhere in the world making travel with the Massive Passive a breeze.
Fifty units of the special MASSIVE PRIDE edition are available now for pre-order through authorized Manley dealers and distributors worldwide and are shipping now. Pricing is the same as the standard Massive Passive.
