Manager, Technical Training & Development
Full Time – Ongoing Position
Band 4.2 – $87,602 Base salary
About the Business Unit
The Production department sits within the Performing Arts pillar and comprises of a highly skilled team that deliver technical and creative services that include Production & Stage Management, Staging, Lighting, Sound & Vision, Wardrobe, Broadcast & Multimedia and Training & Development. This team provides technical support to all of our presenters ensuring safe, efficient delivery across all of our venues and event spaces.
About the position
This is a leadership position within Production Business Unit reporting directly to the Technical Director. The Manager, Technical Training & Development will lead, mentor and develop the ACM team, including the wider Victorian technical theatre community, to establish Arts Centre Melbourne as a leader in technical training and as a center for theatre technical training excellence. Key focus of the role is to lead and develop the RTO ambitions and provide strategic advice towards improving our internal processes, developing safe systems of work and mentoring the team to continue to develop a culture of continuous learning and improvement across all technical disciplines.
The Candidate
To be successful in this role you will require:
* Certificate IV (or above) in Workplace Assessment & Training.
* Certificate IV (or above) in Live Production & Technical Services.
* Other relevant industry training is desirable (e.g. Project Management, Frontline Management training).
* Extensive experience within a similar role in a theatrical or event environment.
* Experience and proven record in the design, evaluation, improvement and implementation of learning programs in a similar organisation.
* Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
* Sound understanding of the budget development and operational process.
* Confident communication and leadership skills enabling the effective engagement of all stakeholders.
* Experience and proven record in leading a multi-disciplinary team across the areas of training, development and safety.
* Considerable knowledge and understanding of OH&S principles.
* Ability to develop innovative solutions and new work methods to address OH&S challenges.
* Excellent presentation and training delivery skills.
