Manager – Staging

  • $104,208 per annum plus superannuation

An exceptional opportunity currently exists for a highly motivated individual to join QPAC in the full-time one-year term position of Manager – Staging.

Reporting to the Manager – Production Services, this role is responsible for the effective, efficient and profitable management of QPAC’s Staging Unit (encompassing staging operations, systems, maintenance and Wardrobe) within the Production Services Unit.

This will be achieved through providing the highest standards of customer service to internal and external clients through effective management, communication and the deployment of industry knowledge, expertise and training gained through touring and work in a multi-venue arts centre.

In order to be successful in this position, you will have demonstrated experience in a Staging management role in the performing arts industry and/or theatre/entertainment production background; along with a customer service orientation, and experience in managing a wide diversity of people.

You will also possess:

 ·         Demonstrated ability to interpret staging requirements and specifications; and to design, specify, plan, set up, operate and maintain staging, flying and rigging systems in a touring and multi-venue live theatre environment, with emphasis on safety in the workplace.

 ·         Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and be accountable for a departmental budget and to meet agreed performance indicators and targets.

 ·         Demonstrated ability to research, develop and implement state of the art staging, flying and rigging systems and associated theatre technologies to the best advantage of QPAC.

 ·         Demonstrated ability to work with a flexible open-minded, customer focussed approach in high-pressure situations, which are subject to change.
