Resolution X became the first Australian production company to welcome Martin MAC Quantum Profiles to their warehouse and they did so with open arms!
This extremely bright LED profile fixture combines top-quality white light with a fast, smooth CMY colour mixing system and crisp gobo projection on surfaces as well as mid-air.
With all this and the new Animotion™ FX system that allows never-before seen beam animations, the market is now finally seeing the first real 700/800 W discharge lamp replacement in a profile fixture that effectively harnesses cutting-edge LED technology.
“I was originally sceptical that a LED based profile could cut it as a serious moving light but the MAC Quantum has proved me wrong,” commented Marcus Pugh, Res X’s Hire and Business Development Manager. “Every client I’ve hired them to, has been impressed with features such as the output, the crispness of the beam and gobo projection as well the overall build quality of the fixture.”
One of the first gigs to benefit from the MAC Quantums was ‘Australia Speaks at AIME’ held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre Plenary 1. The event, produced by Saxton Speakers Bureau, is held for the event planners visiting the AIME show and these are people who know a well-staged show!
Lighting designer and operator for the night was Benjamin Gordon-Schlosberg, better known as Bigs.
“This was my first event utilizing the MAC Quantum Profile, and I was impressed!” he said. “The output is uniform and punchy, and the fixture’s effects are quick and effective. Good zoom range, good colour mixing, and good gobo selection.”
Also in the rig were MAC 2000 Wash, Clay Paky Sharpy, Clay Paky Alpha 1500 Profile, Pro Shop RGB LED Drape, Robert Juliat Victor followspots and a grandMA2 light for control.
