Since deciding to join forces in order to offer a new lighting hire and production service, MPH Australia and Clifton Productions have been upgrading their stock to ensure that they have the latest and best in lighting technology. This has led to them purchasing two MA Lighting MA2 lite consoles as well as a dozen Clay Paky Sharpys and a dozen Clay Paky Sharpy Wash 330.
“The MA2 consoles round off our collection of consoles,” remarked Matt Hansen, MPH Australia’s Managing Director. “The decision was really spec driven as everyone seems to want them! Hopefully the two will fill the demand.”
Matt admits that he has no idea what features the MA2 can offer his clients; he just knows it is in demand and has heard nothing but fabulous reports on the console! With MA Lighting’s famous reputation and reliability plus the security offered by Show Technology, he was happy to make the purchase.
“The decision to purchase the Clay Paky fixtures was also market driven and really, following the trend,” commented Matt. “Having the matched pair offers our clients that much more. Judging on how popular the Sharpy Beams have been, having a fixture of similar quality, especially size and big output, following that line I assumed that the Sharpy Wash would be a popular fixture too. And I was correct!”
Matt comments that just about everyone specifies the Sharpy and that the Sharpy Wash is now starting to pop up on the latest riders.
“The speed of the Sharpy Wash’s zoom is unbelievably fast,” he said. “The output for the size is incredible and the power consumption being quite low is good too. I’ve noticed that even the smaller touring acts are now requesting Sharpy Washes.”
