Perth-based GproShaw Events are an up and coming in-house production team who create unique design ideas and concepts for themed Corporate Events, Concerts, Launch Parties and Fashion Events.
Recently the company invested in a MA Lighting MA onPC command wing which utilises the highly flexible and powerful grandMA2 control system. In combination with the free of charge grandMA2 onPC software, the MA onPC command wing is a portable 2,048 parameter control solution that can be used in nearly any location – and all for an affordable price.
“I was trained on a MA classic console so it has always been my console of choice and the MA onPC command wing is a natural progression from that,” commented Blake Granston. “T he price of the MA2 command wing is very affordable and offers small companies like ours an entry level into the MA Lighting range of control. It would have been crazy to go with any other console in that price range as no one else could offer the functionality of the MA onPC command wing.”
The MA onPC command wing USB interface for MA onPC software has two DMX outputs, one DMX input, an XLR timecode input, as well as analog remote capabilities, and the usual MIDI in and out ports.
“The MA onPC command wing offers us up to four universes and the effects engine is amazing,” added Blake. “There were a few times on the MA Classic where I wanted to achieve something and there was no simple way to do it. However with the MA onPC command wing’s smart effects and effects engine itself, it just seems so much easier to achieve what is going on in my head!
“The assignable executor buttons are handy and the 3D pixel mapping has been an absolute saviour now that we’re doing different layers of visual content material. ”
GproShaw Events also purchased eight Martin MAC101 LED moving head wash lights to add to the eight they already owned. Small, super light and easy-to-use, the MAC101 has an amazingly bright beam for such a compact luminaire. It features rapid movement and calibrated colours with a low price tag that allows for revolutionary set, stage and decorative lighting design.
“And we don’t plan on stopping there!” said Blake. “They are such an amazing little punchy light especially for their price. We use them on just about anything and everything! Obviously it’s great to look at as a light source but they don’t cast a bad light on the floor either especially with the lens cap you can get. You can hang them anywhere and we’re often in venues where there are structural limits so their lightweight is a bonus.
