Luken Smyth of QLX Design recently acquired an MA Tour Pack consisting of an MA onPC command wing, a pre-configured HP All-in-One Touch PC plus a monitor stand and protective hood. The hardware is snugly installed in a roadcase, and can be safely and comfortably transported.
“I purchased it mainly for a studio set up but I also do a lot of commercial and movie promos, which is sometimes just a handful of fixtures so it’s perfect for that,” commented Luken. “It’s also ideal for programming and preliminary work for a big show. It really is a great little set up.”
Luken was impressed by the monitor being foldable and flexible and that you don’t have to fiddle around with plugging extra bits and pieces in.
“You’re up and running straightaway which is what I really like about it,” he said. “There are plenty of USB’s if you want to add extra monitors or anything like that. It’s a good solid operating system with quality workmanship. The fact that it is all self-contained is great, you don’t run the risk of forgetting cables. It’s good that you don’t have to buy it all separately.”
