Lycian Stage Lighting introduces its newest followspot, the model 1274 Superstar 1.2 Short.
The Lycian 1274 will be unveiled at PLASA London 2014 and goes on sale immediately following PLASA. The Superstar Short along with other Lycian followspots can be seen at stand F45, in the White Light area, October 5 – 8 at ExCeL London.
The Superstar 1.2 Short brings all the controls favored for years on its larger sibling the 1275 Superstar, one of Lycian’s best selling followspots, but in a more compact form factor and with a smaller diameter front lens.
With its short overall length, the company says the 1274 offers a remarkable size to brightness ratio.
As a short throw, optically the 1274 is designed for throws up to well beyond 100′ / 35m.
The Superstar Short is capable of beam widths from head shots to two person circles or greater in much of its optimum operating range.
The 1274 top mounted controls include a fader, nichrome iris, and horizontal chopping shutters. A single lever trombone intensifies the beam as the diameter is reduced. An internal self-cancelling six-color boomerang is included as is a magnetic ballast and folding three-legged stand.
“The 1274 should excel in those applications where space is tight but a versatile, clean, bright beam is required. The Superstar Short offers the ability to iris down to a head shot but is fully capable of generating a brilliant wide beam,” said Steve Lerman, director of sales. “We expect the Superstar Short to gain rapid recognition worldwide, as it is available in all international electrical requirements.”
“The Superstar Short continues the Superstar tradition at Lycian as it joins the models 1275 and soon to be released 1276,” says company president, Richard Logothetis.
