Lycian Stage Lighting announces availability of a 1,500W version of the model 1275 Superstar. The model designation is 1275 1.5 and it is called the Superstar 1.5.
The followspot head is the same as the 1,200W version with a reinforced ballast being required.
The ballast is a modified Lycian #927 now called the 927 1.5. It includes a higher capacity inductor. With the Osram Sharxs 1,500W HTI being physically identical to the 1,200W lamp used in the Superstar 1.2, nothing but mounting the lamp and attaching the followspot head to the 1500 ballast is required, the company says.
Existing Superstar 1200’s require the addition of the upgraded ballast and the 1,500W lamp to become the more powerful followspot, the company says.
“The 1275 1.5 represents the most powerful followspot Lycian offers that can still plug into a standard 120V outlet, says Steve Lerman, director of sales. “The Superstar has been an industry favorite for many years and the new Superstar 1.5 offers a versatile, easy to operate, more powerful alternative. It’s very punchy while still retaining an even, balanced field. It also is brighter than competitor’s followspots while being more efficient.”
The Lycian Superstar 1.5 and companion ballast are available for immediate shipping.
