A bit about the role
The Theatre Technician (Production Officer) role provides a unique opportunity to work backstage supporting the sound, staging, audio-visual and lighting for the many national and international shows which the venue hosts. Working backstage and in close collaboration with the clients and wider production team, you will operate GrandMA and Yamaha consoles to produce high quality audio and visual aesthetics.
What you’ll deliver
- Provide strong practical operational support to ensure client’s event requirements are met effectively, efficiently, and safely across the precinct.
- Provide setup and operational services to events and ensure the production requirements for performances, exhibitions, events and functions at Bunjil Place and other City of Casey venues are met.
- Provide production and technical related services and administrative support, including assisting the Logistics team as required.
- Contribute to day to day and ongoing asset maintenance and renewal requirements for Council’s arts and function spaces.
- Contribute to day-to-day operations of the Stage Door.
What you’ll bring
- A passion and interest in the arts; sound, staging, audio-visual and lighting.
- Physical fitness to work backstage, ability to work in low lighting as well as perform various manual handling tasks such as lifting equipment, climbing steps and ladders, set up/pack up of equipment.
- Completion of a relevant production certificate or relevant on the job experience in theatre production.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check, Functional Assessment (Medical/physio) Covid-19 Vaccinations
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive mindset.
