Live Tech Operator Sydney Comedy Festival

One month contract with two days paid training, 22nd April – 19th May.

$35 – $45 per hour

The Century Group is a live entertainment producer, festival presenter and the operator of a suite of venues that includes the Enmore Theatre, Metro Theatre, the Factory Theatre, the Sydney Comedy Store and The Concourse Performing Arts Centre Chatswood.  

As the premier organiser of the Sydney Comedy Festival, we are dedicated to showcasing top-notch comedy talent and providing unforgettable moments for our audiences. We are currently seeking skilled Live Audio Operators to join our team and contribute to the success of the upcoming Sydney Comedy Festival.

**Position Overview:**

As a Live FOH Tech Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of live comedy performances during the Sydney Comedy Festival. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality sound that enhances the overall audience experience.

You will also be required to manage the opening of the room and seating of patrons.

These performances mostly take place in the evening from Wednesday to Sunday, with some matinees on the weekends.

Training will be provided on Monday 22nd & Tuesday 23rd

**Responsibilities:**

– Set up and operate audio, lighting and visual equipment for live comedy performances.

– Conduct sound checks and ensure optimal audio levels for performers.

– Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues during live shows.

– Collaborate with performers and production staff to understand specific audio requirements.

– Operate QLab and audio mixing consoles, microphones, and other relevant equipment.

– Patron management and seating

**Qualifications:**

– Proven experience as a Live Audio Operator, preferably in a live entertainment setting.

– Experience operating QLab is preferable

– Strong knowledge of audio equipment and systems.

– Familiarity with various audio mixing consoles and software.

– Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing live show environments.

– Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as the festival schedule requires.
