The Century Group is a live entertainment producer, festival presenter and the operator of a suite of venues that includes the Enmore Theatre, Metro Theatre, the Factory Theatre complex, the Sydney Comedy Store and The Concourse Performing Arts Centre Chatswood.
Century Venues has an exciting opportunity for several motivated individuals to join the team as Skilled Sound Engineer / Operator or as a Skilled Lighting Operator / Systems Tech to work across our entertainment venues.
Our new Sound and Lighting Operators are passionate about music, comedy and entertainment, have solid experience working with all aspects of live entertainment in venues.
Key priorities for the Sound Engineer / Operator position include, but are not limited to:
Operating and mixing FOH / MON for all types of live performances
Familiar with Analogue and Digital audio systems
Has used and is familiar with a selection of Analogue and Digital Consoles
Patching and mic’ing techniques for live performances
Conducting regular cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of sound equipment.
Representing the Group through liaison with Tour Managers, Production Managers, Artists, Promoters and our Clients on show days.
Troubleshooting and problem solving for audio systems
Maintaining a safe working environment by conforming to all established safety policies and procedures
Taking responsibility of stage and production areas
Reporting; end of event.
Key priorities for the Lighting Technician / Operator position include, but are not limited to:
Operating lighting for all types of live performances
Familiar with various lighting systems and patching
Competent in the use of various DMX Consoles such as grandMA or Hog.
Lighting techniques for various types of performances and shows
Conducting regular cleaning, maintenance and upkeep lighting equipment.
Representing the Group through liaison with Tour Managers, Production Managers, Artists, Promoters and our Clients on show days.
Troubleshooting and problem solving for lighting systems
Maintaining a safe working environment by conforming to all established safety policies and procedures
Taking responsibility of stage and production areas
Reporting; end of event.
Selection Criteria
The successful applicant will possess relevant industry experience and knowledge of events in live theatre, comedy and/or concert productions.
Essential Criteria
Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines and being able to problem-solve quickly and effectively.
Demonstrated ability work alone or as a team member
Dealing with Touring Parties and being accommodating to show needs and striving to provide the best result possible.
This is not a 9 to 5 position and requires the individual to work evenings and most weekends. It will require the individual to have a high degree of flexibility in their work times.
