Lighting Technician – Casual

Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) is one of Australia’s leading centres for live performance. Welcoming over 1.5 million visitors to more than 1200 performances each year, we embrace the best in live performance – the world-renowned alongside the emerging, local and new – and connect to the stories and ideas at the heart of each production. Through the warmth and expertise of our staff, we have become a trusted curator, presenter and host; a place to come together to relax, reflect, share stories and celebrate.

Leading into our peak theatre season, we are excited to announce opportunities for highly motivated and experienced individuals to join QPAC’s Lighting Team in the casual role of Technician – Lighting. We are seeking both Technician level and Senior Technician level applications. The pay rate will be determined considering your skills and experience.

You will provide hands-on professional, client-focused services to venue hirers and other QPAC Units. These positions involve working with teams of technicians in multiple venues in a high-pressure hands-on team environment.

We are looking for individuals with:

  • Demonstrated ability to setup, operate and maintain stage lighting and production equipment, systems and effects.
  • Excellent communication and a team-focused orientation
  • Capability to work with limited supervision in a hands-on team environment.
  • Supervisory experience is also beneficial, as there may be scope to lead.

Experience with lighting control systems, data networks and multi-venue theatre centres will be highly regarded, as is touring and commercial theatre experience within the performing arts industry.

Availability will be required for day, evening and weekend shifts including extended periods to service hirer’s schedules.

 HOW TO APPLY

The application pack, including the position description and details on how to apply, can be found on the QPAC Website Current Careers via www.qpac.com.au/careers/jobs.

Please do not apply via SEEK – apply directly on QPAC’s website via the link above.
