Reporting to: Head of Production
Location: Leichhardt, NSW (other locations as required)
Position Description
The Lighting Technician plays an active role in the preparation, installation, operation and removal of lighting-focused production equipment across Mandylights’ wide range of projects. Requiring a combination of technical experience and the ability to work as part of a small team, this position assists with the delivery of Mandylights’ world-class creative concepts to ensure they are delivered safely, efficiently and accurately at all times.
This role requires flexible work hours and will involve onsite production work.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Understand and interpret lighting and technical systems designs to assist with the setup of lighting
equipment, under limited supervision
* Assist with the preparation, packing and onsite installation and removal components of technical systems, including assisting in running a crew of technicians and other stakeholders as required. This may take place in the Mandylights warehouses or on job sites.
* Work safely at all times per Mandylights SWMS / RAMS and Company safety policies.
* Work in a timely fashion to adapt to onsite changes from internal and external stakeholders as required.
* Be able to identify basic faults and troubleshoot industry-standard lighting systems in a safe, timely manner.
Experience and skills required
* Experience in the preparation and installation of industry-standard lighting fixtures, control systems and related technologies.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Basic console skills or a desire to learn
* Working understanding of basic rigging, power and data distribution techniques.
* Attention to detail.
* Proficiency with Mac operating systems
* A clean criminal record and ability to travel both interstate and internationally
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude
* Proactive nature with the ability to work autonomously
* Unrestricted driving licence (only car required)
