Opera Australia (OA) is Australia’s national opera company dedicated to enriching Australia’s cultural life with exceptional opera and musical productions. The role Joining OA’s Technical division and reporting to the Head of Lighting, our new Lighting Technicians will be crucial to the preparation, set-up and installation processes of the lighting department.
You must be available to work from 19 Dec 2022 – 19 March 2023.
Focus areas
- Assist with all lighting operations, including but not limited to installation, managing a performance plot for the run of the season, ensure compliance with safety standards, and support documentation and reporting
- Along with the lighting team, you will attend, interpret, and implement the actions that come from production meetings
- Follow WHS policies regarding use of equipment and personal safety, identifying and reporting hazards, adhering to new safety solutions
About you
- Demonstrated experience in the electrical space, particularly within a theatre and/or outdoor events setting
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Ability to work well in both a team environment or independently; remaining agile and adaptable
- Have an understanding of WHS practices
- Be able to work at heights
