The Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre is seeking a permanent Lighting Technician to work alongside our high performing Lighting, Audio Visual and Staging teams delivering high-quality production services for a variety of events held at the MECC, BB print Stadium as well as outdoor Festivals.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
– Work as part of a high performing team with great culture on a wide range of productions and events including many major performing arts companies and promoters
– Maintain theatrical and conference lighting systems and associated equipment
– Provide stage and conference lighting, designs and effects
– Directly report to the Head of Lighting – MECC & Events
– Enhance your skills and experience in this field through training, development and mentoring.
We are looking for team members who:
- Can operate and maintain conference and stage lighting within the Convention Precinct to recognised industry standards.
- Will respond quickly and effectively to unforeseen breakdown of equipment
- Has the ability to work with clients to deliver the requirements of their events
- Brings to the team prior technical experience in the theatre, hospitality industry or events.
