Melbourne Theatre Company seeks an experienced theatre technician for the role of Lighting Supervisor at our main performance venue, Southbank Theatre. The position is initially being offered as a six month full-time contract.
The Lighting Supervisor works closely with the Production Services Manager and other technical staff to support the work of MTC and other hirers in delivering the highest quality professional theatre productions at Southbank Theatre. The role supervises a team of casual staff, who are engaged on a show by show basis. The Lighting Supervisor is required to operate the lighting desk for some performances each week as well as contribute to planning, scheduling and managing productions and staff on an on-going basis. The role also has input in managing the general operation of lighting and electrical services in the building in conjunction with the Building Services Manager.
