Lighting Supervisor

Contract Hours: 22.8 hrs p/w minimum 3 days per week

Salary- Commencing at 85-90k p/a pro rata + shift penalties + overtime+ Sunday penalty

The Role:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Lighting Supervisor to join our dynamic technical services team at City Recital Hall. The ideal candidate will have a passion for live events and a strong understanding of lighting design and technology. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the visual experience of our performances while ensuring the highest level of safety and operational standards are met.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Design, implement, and oversee lighting plans for a variety of performances and events in the hall and precinct.
  • Collaborate closely with artists, directors and other stakeholders to achieve artistic vision.
  • Lead and train a team of lighting technicians, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
  • Assist in managing budgets and resources efficiently, adhering to timelines and project specifications.
  • Maintain lighting inventory and equipment across the precinct.
  • Operate and program lighting consoles; experience in ETC Eos Family and GrandMA
  • Understand lighting network protocols; sACN, Art-Net and networking distribution equipment.
  • Work with CRH production and events team to ensure all pre-production information for events relating to the lighting department is up to date, assisting the Production and Event Managers with lighting specific requirements for all production and events throughout the precinct.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of Work Health and Safety and ensuring compliance across the department.


About You;

  • You hold tertiary qualifications in Technical Theatre, Lighting and/or Live Production
  • 5+ Years’ experience in Lighting Services in a live theatre/music environment.
  • Willingness to collaborate and learn alongside fellow colleagues, artists and other stakeholders.
  • Passion for continuous improvement, leadership and development of people.
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends across the nature of the events calendar
  • Strong computer skills; Microsoft 365, Adobe Suite, Vectorworks or AutoCAD, Artifax and Humanforce
  • Ability to lead and develop technical teams across the organization.
