Lighting Operator (Casual), SOH

This position works as part of a team, providing lighting technical services to presenters  that meet SOH standards.  This position works with clients to support and deliver events and productions, maintaining high quality customer service. The role contributes to the maintenance and security of technical equipment, venues and upholds WHS standards.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1.    Knowledge and experience (at least 1 year) of working conditions of a live theatre environment or a related industry.
2.    Demonstrated general technical understanding, skills and experience in lighting and of the requirements of live theatre and the performing arts industry.
3.    Basic theory and understanding of lighting concepts such as focussing and patching and lighting effects are desirable for the position.
4.    Physical fitness, agility and ability to work at heights.
5.    Ability and commitment to work on a rotating shift basis.
6.    Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively within teams and across multiple disciplines to ensure completion of work.
7.    Good  communication skills and well-developed interpersonal skills.
8.    Commitment to abide by  Opera House policies, particularly WHS procedures , including manual handling techniques.
9.    Demonstrated knowledge and application of computer related technology.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
Job Status: Temporary, Casual
Position No: SOH655
Total Remuneration Package: Base hourly rate of $24.49, plus 23.3% Casual Loading ($5.71 per hour), 15.25% Scale Penalty ($3.74 per hour) and 9.5% superannuation contribution.
